Tensile Stress Strain Curves Models

Content Developed by Dr Dominik Konkolewicz and Camaryn Bennett

This spreadsheet and the associated read-me file can be used to fit tensile stress strain curves to models for highly and hyper elastic materials. This includes conventional Models from Gent, Ogden, Dobrynin and the Neo-Hookean. Additionally modified models which capture the loss of transient or temporary crosslinks as the material is strained can be adapted. Examples of materials that contain permanent covalent crosslinks and temporary crosslinks include elastomers containing hydrogen bonds, or ionic linkers that can easily dissociate under load. To be valid the model works best when the timescale of the experiment is comparable to the timescale of the transient bonds.

All that is needed to use this spreadsheet is Microsoft Excel.
